What does working with Zmart Hohm look like?
We pride ourselves on how easy we make it for developers to work with us. We provide the design, supply and commission of our intelligent home automation systems. Here’s what working with us actually looks like:
- We begin with a discovery consultation – together we agree upon what you want in your homes (we can be as involved or hands-off here as you want).
- Once we’ve got a spec, we then design your system(s) for all house types.
- Colour-coded layout plans and wiring schedules are issued to the electrical contractor.
- 1st fix audit carried out on house type change before plasterboard stage to check all wiring.
- Next, we build our panels offsite to guarantee quality control & reduce labour onsite.
- Delivery of panel build with custom project hardware pack.
- Commissioning & handover.
- The innovative design of the system allows your electrical contractors to fully install the system without any specific training.
By working like this we can help maintain the build schedule, minimise labour onsite and reduce the amount of wiring needed in the home due to the Tree topology our systems use.
Design
Once you’re happy with the features you’ve chosen, we will design your system which includes a bespoke colour-coded layout of your system.
As part of this, we’ll create a cable-unique wiring schedule which will make things straightforward for your electrical contractor.
Build
We’ll carefully construct your panel in our dedicated workshop. Each panel is fully tested and all software is updated before we send it over to you. Working this way allows us to guarantee the quality of every single panel that we create.
Commission
We’ll custom program each system based on the specific needs of the homeowner, not just the house type.
So even if a family of 4 and a single working professional opt for the same house type, their systems will behave specifically to their needs.
A scalable solution
If you want to offer your customers different levels of systems, we can work with you to create set packages that can be offered as optional upgrades. Or maybe you simply want to offer more features as the properties go up in size. No worries, we can do that too.
As we provide your in-house electrical contractors with a detailed wiring schedule, this means that there’s no bottleneck on the project. Many systems can be installed simultaneously as no specific training is required on your side.
Future Home Standard
As mandatory compliance with the Future Homes Standard (FHS) approaches, we’re seeing a lot of developers looking to install a wide range of renewable technologies such as PV, battery, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, electric vehicle charging, etc.

We can even take advantage of energy suppliers that offer dynamic hourly electricity prices – ensuring that non-time critical actions such as charging the car or using the dishwasher only happen when the price is at its lowest. By intelligently monitoring the prices on the live stock market for electricity, we can ensure that these set devices are only activated when they’ll cost the least.
